Exclusive to educators, TSP offers a rich curriculum that uses innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance learning. This programme features a carefully designed curriculum comprising a wide selection of electives, seminars by distinguished professors, government leaders and industry luminaries.

With personal guidance from top faculty over the 4 years, every TSP scholar will graduate with exacting standards required of successful educators and leaders.



  • 2 Major Research Projects: Educational Research, and Final Year Project

Under the mentorship of eminent advisors, professors and researchers, TSP students will get to develop their research skills and strengthen the critical theory-practice links needed of effective and engaging educators.

TSP students may also have the chance to participate in the Undergraduate Research Experience on Campus (URECA), a university-wide programme that cultivates a culture of rigor and curiosity amongst NTU’s most outstanding.

Such valuable experiences aim to stretch TSP students’ intellectual limits by placing them in stimulating environments that will constantly challenge their competencies.

TSP students will get to explore global issues, develop insights, and cultivate competencies that extend beyond classroom learning.

These experiences include learning from leading companies and industries through internships, developing in character through service learning and enhancing your outlook in life through cross-cultural exposure in international communities. 


TSP students will be guaranteed accommodation in NTU’s Hall of Residences, where they can live, learn and grow with NTU’s community of student residents. 


Upon graduation, TSP graduates will be assigned to schools where they will begin their journey of shaping and inspiring young minds. TSP familiarises students with ever-changing education policies and equips them with pertinent knowledge to impact learning in the schools.


The NTU-NIE Teaching Scholars Programme (TSP) is NIE's flagship programme exclusive to aspiring educators. TSP aims to grow outstanding students with a strong passion to teach, deep humility, and great leadership potential into tomorrow's leaders of education.

TSP scholars will be exposed to a multi-disciplinary curriculum with an interactive pedagogy, practical work experience, overseas opportunities, and personal mentorship. They will graduate from the programme as not only future-ready educators but as steadfast nation-builders with strong values.
